Reassigning to okular.

Comment 5 Kevin Kofler 2011-11-23 16:34:59 UTC
So this is with firefox + kpartsplugin + okular. It looks like there's an exception getting triggered from kernel/qcoreapplication.cpp:735.

Comment 6 Kevin Kofler 2011-11-23 16:36:24 UTC
That's code from Qt (qt-4.7.4-4.fc14) under src/corelib/kernel.

Comment 7 Kevin Kofler 2011-11-23 16:47:16 UTC
Actually, that must be a 4.7.3 build, judging from the line number.

The exception is being thrown by the QT_RETHROW in QCoreApplication::notifyInternal, which means some event handler is throwing an uncaught exception.

So I have 2 questions to the reporter:
1. Have you tried with Qt 4.7.4? There's qt-4.7.4-4.fc14 in updates and qt-4.7.4-7.fc14 in updates-testing.
2. Can you try running Firefox from a terminal (e.g. Konsole) and viewing a PDF in it then? Is there any uncaught C++ exception printed to the terminal? (There should be one.) If yes, please paste all the information about the exception from the terminal into this bug report.

Comment 8 Kevin Kofler 2011-11-23 16:52:18 UTC
(Judging from the date the bug report was filed on, this must actually have been Qt 4.7.1 or older. But that's one more reason to ask whether it still happens with the current updates. :-) )

Comment 9 Kevin Kofler 2011-11-23 17:15:53 UTC
FYI, no crash for me with:
firefox-8.0-3.fc15.i686
kpartsplugin-0.0.1-0.4.20110606.fc15.i686
kdegraphics-4.6.5-3.fc15.i686
qt-4.7.4-6.fc15.i686
(at least not on the PDF file I tried it with).

Comment 10 luxyrybugs 2011-11-23 17:38:54 UTC
I can't test it, because now I'm using ArchLinux, and with my present config Okular opens separately, not inside the browser.

Linux 3.1-pf x86_64
Firefox 8.x
qt 4.7.4
kdegraphics-okular 4.7.3
kde 4.7.3

Comment 11 Rex Dieter 2011-11-23 17:42:36 UTC
missing kpartsplugin then?

Comment 12 Kevin Kofler 2011-11-23 17:44:15 UTC
Given that it works for me on Fedora 15, I presume that this is fixed, so I'm going to close this.

(kpartsplugin is the magic thing which opens Okular inside the browser, by the way.)
