Description of problem: I've upgraded my machine to rawhide, but the updates-released-f15 repo doesn't exist yet. I added skip_if_unavailable=1 to the repo definition, but yum doesn't handle it gracefully. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): yum-3.2.29-2.fc15.noarch How reproducible: Very Steps to Reproduce: 1. Upgrade to Rawhide 2. Enable the updates repo, but set "skip_if_unavailable=1", as show below 3. Watch yum complain Actual results: [root@penaltybox yum.repos.d]# yum check-update Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit Adding en_US to language list Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile updates/metalink | 18 kB 00:00 Could not parse metalink https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=updates-released-f15&arch=i386 error was No repomd file Error: File /var/cache/yum/i386/15/updates/metalink.xml does not exist Expected results: Yum should skip the unavailable repo Additional info: [updates] name=Fedora $releasever - $basearch - Updates failovermethod=priority #baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/updates/$releasever/$basearch/ mirrorlist=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=updates-released-f$releasever&arch=$basearch enabled=1 gpgcheck=1 gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-$basearch skip_if_unavailable=1
It's fixed in yum-3.4.3-29 in F17, but you probably won't get that package for F15 now that's out of support. See: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=842031
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 19 development cycle. Changing version to '19'. (As we did not run this process for some time, it could affect also pre-Fedora 19 development cycle bugs. We are very sorry. It will help us with cleanup during Fedora 19 End Of Life. Thank you.)
