Description Radu Alexandru Popescu 2011-01-25 22:53:41 UTC
Description of problem:
The program reports a file did not match a filter even if all filters are specified.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
0.13.0-6.fc12

How reproducible:
Always, 100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install program via yum
2. Modify init.d script and add -v4 (most verbose logging mode)
3. Add files to the watched folder (by default /var/lib/gmediaserver/)
4. Start the daemon (if the daemon says that is starts ok, but 'service gmediaserver status' reports a crashed daemon, check that /var/log/gmediaserver/gmediaserver.log is owned by gmediaserver:gmediaserver)

Additional info:
From what I was able to look at, it seems the files used to compile the package are older than the CVS version currently available ( I got the package from http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/releases/14/Everything/source/SRPMS/gmediaserver-0.13.0-6.fc12.src.rpm ).
The bug seems to be in "magic.c": the function "static FileType check_file_content_type(const char *fullpath)" has a workaround for the versions of libmagic that return MIME info with "; charset=..." appended (example for an MP3 file: audio/mpeg; charset=binary) - it checks for the presence of "; " in the string then duplicates the string either until the presence of ";"(trimming of the rest) or the entire string if there is no "; " detected.

If needed, I can provide more info upon request.

Comment 2 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-16 13:42:21 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 14 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 14. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '14' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 14 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
