Description of problem: My Dell 1558 laptop with Fedora 14, appears to go into suspend mode correctly (e.g. laptop shuts down, power indicator cycles as it should to indicate suspension). When the laptop is opened, it starts to resume, then hangs with a text-mode cursor on a black screen. The keyboard is unresponsive and the only way to get the laptop working again is to hold the power button for 30 seconds and do a reboot. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kernel-2.6.35.10-74.fc14.x86_64 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Close laptop to suspect 2. Wait a few seconds 3. open laptop to resume Actual results: Fedora hangs Expected results: Fedora should resume normal operation Additional info: A Google search turned up an existing patch for the Dell 155x resume problem from the Ubuntu folks. Not sure if this would fix the Fedora kernel as well. http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kamal/dell_155x_resume/ Not sure what other info would be helpful but happy to provide anything I can.
If there's any other hardware info I can provide that would help in solving this bug, let me know what you need and I'll try to provide it.
The patch you referenced in comment #0 is already included in the F14 kernel. Are you still having this issue with the latest f14 kernel?
The latest version of the f14 kernel is working correctly for suspend / resume on my Dell Studio 1558. I think this bug has been fixed. Thanks!
