Description Joachim Frieben 2011-02-08 10:38:32 UTC
Description of problem:
When launching a clip at http://www.youtube.de epiphany no video gets played. Instead "Missing plugin" appears inside a black window.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
epiphany-2.91.6-2.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch a video at http://www.youtube.de

Actual results:
No Flash video but an error message "Missing plugin".

Expected results:
Flash video gets played as expected.

Additional info:
- Firefox works as expected.
- Plugin version is flash-plugin-10.3.162.29-1.fc15.x86_64.
- When launched, epiphany returns a possibly related error message to the console:
    /builddir/build/BUILD/icedtea6-1.9.5/plugin/icedteanp/IcedTeaNPPlugin.cc:1978:
      thread 0x13bb1e0: Error: Invalid plugin function table.
- Embedding of PDF files through mozplugger does work which implies that in general
  plugins seem to work.

Comment 1 Joachim Frieben 2011-02-24 22:37:31 UTC
No improvement for epiphany-2.91.90-1.fc15.x86_64.

Comment 2 Joachim Frieben 2011-03-09 09:46:00 UTC
No improvement for epiphany-2.91.91-1.fc15.x86_64 -but- according to the NEWS file this failure is deliberate:

===============
Epiphany 2.91.4
===============

Changes:

  - Blacklist Flash plugin, since it will just crash in our GTK+ 3.x
    process.

Nevertheless, the Flash plugin is supposed to be working thus leaving the bug open until the feature gets re-enabled upstream.

Comment 3 Joachim Frieben 2011-05-05 07:56:21 UTC
==============
Epiphany 3.0.1
==============

Changes:

  - Auto-shrink images by default.
  - Rely on WebKit 1.4.0 to not load GTK+2.x plugins instead of
    maintaining our own plugins blacklist.
