Description of problem: Changing from runlevel 5 to runlevel 1 does not have the expected effect. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Always reproducible. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start F14 in runlevel 5 (default Gnome GUI configuration). 2. Login as user. 3. Open the gnome-terminal. 4. As root, execute "init 1" or "telinit 1" Actual results: Gnome desktop GUI remains active. Expected results: Gnome desktop GUI terminates, and the console interface with character-mode login prompt is shown. Additional info: - Wireless network is terminated as expected. - Desktop icons briefly disappear and then immediately reappear. - Mouse is still active. - Cannot shutdown. When initiating shutdown, no "shutdown" button is present. Only "hibernate", "sleep" and "cancel" buttons are available.
