Description of problem: KMyMoney and Catalyst driver combination crashes Xorg How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Start KMyMoney - Settings - Configure KMyMoney Actual results: User is logged out of system and afterwards system shows GDM login screen. Just like you login after switching on the system Expected Results: Show the 'Configure KMyMoney' window Details: I am trying to use KMyMoney (instead of gnucash, because kymymoney has import matching you can control). However Xorg crashes (X restarted) whenever I try to: Start KMyMoney - Settings - Configure KMyMoney It also happens sometimes when I'm importing QIF in KMyMoney and creating matching rules. No other program on my system shows this behaviour only KMyMoney. But... if I use a different driver (vesa, radeon, ati), KMyMoney does not crash Xorg. I first submitted this bug to the KMyMoney buglist (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=265887), but they claim this bug is probably related to the distribution. Any other program I have does not crash Xorg. I really do not want to use the other video drivers, because they give other problems. /var/log/messages: Feb 9 12:24:03 .. abrt[12218]: saved core dump of pid 11673 (/usr/bin/Xorg) to /var/spool/abrt/ccpp-1297250641-11673.new/coredump (44544000 bytes) Feb 9 12:24:03 .. abrtd: Directory 'ccpp-1297250641-11673' creation detected Feb 9 12:24:03 .. kernel: [12633.586576] [fglrx] IRQ 57 Disabled Feb 9 12:24:03 .. gnome-keyring-daemon[11751]: dbus failure unregistering from session: Connection is closed Feb 9 12:24:03 .. gnome-keyring-daemon[11751]: dbus failure unregistering from session: Connection is closed Feb 9 12:24:04 .. abrtd: Crash is in database already (dup of /var/spool/abrt/ccpp-1297249995-8204) Feb 9 12:24:04 .. abrtd: Deleting crash ccpp-1297250641-11673 (dup of ccpp-1297249995-8204), sending dbus signal /var/spool/abrt/ccpp-1297249995-8204: analyzer: CCpp architecture: x86_64 cmdline: /usr/bin/Xorg :0 -br -verbose -auth /var/run/gdm/auth-for-gdm-9Qyzwa/database -nolisten tcp component: xorg-x11-server executable: /usr/bin/Xorg kernel: 2.6.35.10-74.fc14.x86_64 package: xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.9.3-4.fc14 reason: Process /usr/bin/Xorg was killed by signal 6 (SIGABRT) release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin) time: 1297249995 uuid: 0 Default Window Manager: Gnome Videodriver: fglrx Package version: kmod-catalyst-2.6.35.10-74.fc14.x86_64-10.12-1.fc14.x86_64 xorg-x11-drv-catalyst-libs-10.12-2.fc14.x86_64 Happy to provide more info if needed. Thanks for the report. We are sorry that we cannot help you with your problem, but we are not able to support binary-only drivers. If you would be able to reproduce this issue using only open source software, please, reopen this bug with the additional information, but in meantime I have no choice than to close this bug as CANTFIX (because we really cannot fix it).
