Description of problem: Fedora 13 LXDE. I have installed freemind. my OS is in English, and I use Japanese input (i-bus) freemind is new for me. I have already opened a bug related to lose of keyboard input using i-bus and freemind. It appears now that freemind (or openjdk?) does not allow i-bus input. When I select Japanese and type in freemind, the output are rectangles. Changing font has not effect. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 0.9.0 RC 15 freemind Fedora 13 LXDE and 14 LXDE (2 different notebooks) How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open freemind 2. Select Japanese input in i-bus and type some text in freemind (hiragana input) 3. the output are rectangles Actual results: Japanese input (i-bus) has no effect Expected results: Typing English and Japanese in FreeMind Additional info: It is the first time I install and use a Java application. I am not positive, I could have missed a setting?
I think this is related to the font and or the encoding. Did you try to choose a japanese font in the upper right dropdown-menu. I don't have much experience with japanese/asian fonts so I could not give any other helpful advice. But it appears to me that it's not really a freemind-specific thing.
Created attachment 478425 [details] Japanese input in freemind using a en_us os and i-bus either freemind, either java (openjdk) related? see the attached print-screen for detail.
Oh! upper right, my bad... you were right. I am closing the bug, sorry.
