this is NOT a duplicate of 650064. please investigate my traceback I am getting message: :unable to find group information: problem with install tree, filed to Bugzilla 677002 677002 is closed says this bug 650064 is a duplicate. I am not sure that is true. In terminal:# yum groupinfo shows groups and symantic refreshes lists properly? my setup shows ethernet working as pci2p1 not eth0? Is Anaconda not able to handle pci2pl name? http://serverbeach1.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/15-Beta.TC1/Fedora/i386/iso/Fedora-15-Beta-i386-DVD.iso gnome2.91.93 (fallback mode) updated today: (VirtualBox 4.0.4 OSX intel i7 TC F15 DVD install to VirtualBox HD trying to install it external usb 320 GB HD) This has always worked in fedora before.

tried to use anaconda in gnome3-shell 3.0.0 upgraded 04/07/2011 with yum clean all yum update to install to an external USB Harddisk
note kernel modified for Virtualbox4.0,4 f14 with sources before upgrade
(In reply to comment #7) > tried to use anaconda in gnome3-shell 3.0.0 upgraded 04/07/2011 with > yum clean all > yum update > to install to an external USB Harddisk Running anaconda directly on a running system other than a live image is not supported. Even with a live image you do not invoke anaconda directly -- instead, you run liveinst.

Note - those last 2 tracebacks appear to have been created with unsupported tools, possibly unetbootin. That may or may not be the root cause of the problem, but we don't support the use of non-Fedora tools for creating install media. I also see: ata_id[6253]: HDIO_GET_IDENTITY failed for '/dev/sdb' I'm not sure exactly what that means, but it doesn't look good. If this problem persists with supported install media please open a new bug so we can explore this.
