It'd be nice to be able to install Ex Falso without pulling in gstreamer since I don't really need to music player features.
This is not trivial, but possible. This is how Debian splits the package: http://packages.debian.org/sid/all/exfalso/filelist http://packages.debian.org/sid/all/quodlibet/filelist As you can see the quodlibet package hardly has any content, the only advantage is Ex Falso getting rid of gstreamer.
