Pretty clear report, but doesn't happen for me when following those steps. caolanm->owlbrudder: Are you able to reproduce this ? caolanm->dtardon: Or does it happen for you ?
dtardon->caolanm: No, either. dtardon->owlbrudder: That <something>.yap is really suspicious. Do you have any extension installed? Like, e.g., one for creating formulas in LaTeX syntax?
Now you have me feeling guilty ... "8-/ I have two LaTeX-oriented extensions: oolatex.oxt 4.0.0-beta-2 Writer2LaTeX export filters 1.0.2 I have installed a number of extensions, to investigate in my spare time. If you suspect any of the extensions I have installed, let me know and I will zap it. Kind regards, Doug

Bill, see comment #4, can you list your installed extensions so we can see what's commmon, e.g. probably oolatex.oxt or something.
Extension Manager reports PDF Import 1.0.3 Presenter Console 1.1.0 Didn't know I had any extensions, and had to investigate the idea of an extension before locating the manager to get the report. I mention this because I installed what Fedora offered by default and nothing more.
BTW - The spreadsheet I use that failed has some major XML errors in it that prevent me from modifying it further. If I delete a sheet, it works, and everything appears normal, but the save and reopen of the spreadsheet fails on XML error line 2, some huge distance into the line. An XML editor shows a duplicate tag as the offending item. If I move a sheet from being sheet 4 to sheet 9, the save trashes the whole spreadsheet on a re open. Prior to the save and quit the spreadsheet works just fine. I programatically (via macro) save the spreadsheet several times an hour and use a process to save copies of the disk image in a safe place. At the end of the day I have over 100 copies of the sheet at different times of the day as in: WestEndNew.ods.11020714_204506 WestEndNew.ods.11020714_204918 Sometimes the next day, when I attempt to reopen the spreadsheet I get internal password failures and it won't open. I have to reach back into my savearea to find a version that isn't trashed. I have before and after versions that are sometimes only a minute apart, and one works and the other is trashed. I have no idea what causes a periodic file save to trash the sheet. So, ... This spreadsheet may not be the best candidate to try to locate the issue in this incident. It has major problems.
AuthorSupportTool uses files sources.yap and styles.yap for something, so the was most probably caused by a bug in that extension.
