I'm not sure if this is kernel problem or some user space component i.e NetworkManager.

Please do below command (performed as root):

$ (ifconfig ; iwconfig ; route ; dmesg -c) 2>&1 > file.txt

3 times: before disconnect, after disconnect, and after reconnect. Attach all 3 output files here.

There have been a lot of updates since the bug was reported ... maybe that accounts for the problem not being repeated tonight ....

I am at home ... wireless and wired. Hooked the laptop up with wireless disabled and cycled the wired connection, no problem.

I was having trouble at work, (I use the wireless at home), the office has no wireless available, just wired. I will try again later.

Comment 4 Brent R Brian 2011-02-24 13:41:38 UTC
One of the updates must have fixed it.

I have tried removing cable w/o disconnecting NetorkManager, works.

I have tried removing cable after disconnecting NetorkManager, works.

It was removing the System eth0 option from the NetworkManager list before.
