Meshlab supported .asc files do not contain RGB values, only XYZ. See the .asc parsing code in vcglib/wrap/io_trimesh/import_asc.h. Please strip the RGB values and let us know whether you still get a crash in the re-topology tool. To get RGB data in your point cloud requires use of a different file format such as .ply. See http://sourceforge.net/projects/meshlab/forums/forum/499532/topic/3826846 or robozyt's post in the thread http://forums.cgsociety.org/archive/index.php/t-744346.html for examples of the header to prepend to your data to get it into .ply format.
