Description of problem: Currently the F13 repo. name for an anaconda install is: anaconda-InstallationRepo-201005130101.x86_64 ...which is "big". Esp. when we output it in yum, would it be possible to shorten this to something like: Inst-20100513.x86_64
What's the length limit you're retrying to stay under?
So if I run: http://james.fedorapeople.org/yum/commands/length_distributions.py ...on "installed" then my NEVRA length tails off around 40 characters, add the two space characters and the '@' gives you get an absolute maximum of 37 characters for a _mostly_ non-overflowing repoid (on an 80 char. wide terminal). But given there are still 21 installed pkgs with a length of 48, every character helps ... 20-25 characters seems reasonable, to me, but I might be an idiot :).
Wait, do we even still copy repo config files to /etc/yum.repos.d on the installed system at the end of installation post-F13? I don't think we do, which means you shouldn't be seeing anaconda-* repos.
No, this is yumdb data. Eg. % sudo yum ls yum zsh Loaded plugins: aliases Installed Packages bash.x86_64 4.1.7-1.fc13 @updates yum.noarch 3.2.29-3.fc13 @fedora-yum-rawhide zsh.x86_64 4.3.10-5.fc13 @anaconda-InstallationRepo-201005130101.x86_64
