Description Brian Lane 2011-02-24 23:14:07 UTC
When anaconda.id was removed 2 instances were missed. One in platform.py and one in iutil.py

The platform.py one causes EFI installs to fail with the F15 Alpha RC1 Live iso (and probably the normal boot.iso as well).

The other will cause problems for s390.

My fs layout:
lvm with lvs: ext4 root and btrfs home and swap. There was also a efi system
partition (sda1) a fat partition (sda2) and sda3 was the lvm ..
i choose to format root (/) and keep home. i did not change sda1 or sda2

I was able to install F15 Alpha on the platform using the updated anconda and pykickstart packages,

Comment 6 Scott Shambarger 2011-04-25 23:13:07 UTC
I applied the patch above to the F15 Server alpha 1 (specifically to the images/pxeboot/initrd.img) and was able to install on a UEFI Intel Motherboard successfully. Note, I also corrected a 3rd reference to anaconda.id in iutil.py:817; not sure if that was the correct thing to do, but it might be worth considering adding to the patch.

Updated patch including additional fix

I've added an updated patch that includes the additional fix to iutil.py

This bug has already been fixed. Could you open a new one for the reIPL bug. We're close to release so I doubt that it will make the cut. It has already been fixed on master.

Thanks.

brian: efi installs are in the criteria so if they're broken, it's a blocker; we squeeze in a fix or we slip. is there a new bug? if so can someone mark it as f15blocker?

This bug is fixed. The reIPL problem will only happen on s390 which isn't an officially supported F15 arch, is it?
