Usually when I start up empathy, I get a contact list which is pre-populated with all the employees in the company. (I assume our Jabber server has some sort of LDAP integration.) But maybe once every 15 startups or so, I get a mostly empty list. I also get a "People Nearby" list, I assume from Bonjour clients on the same subnet. When the Jabber-based list doesn't work, People Nearby *does* work. (Though it only has a few people on it, so it's not useful for intracompany communication.) Restarting Empathy causes the contact list to be repopulated properly. empathy-2.32.2-1.fc14.x86_64
