How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install Windows XP (SP1 in my case) to qemu-kvm
2. run machine with '-net nic,model=pcnet -net user,smb=$some_dir' args
3. in a guest's Explorer, type \\10.0.2.4\qemu
4. hit OK if error window pops up
  
Actual results:
qemu-kvm exits with return code 0
