Description Iván Jiménez 2011-03-02 06:15:45 UTC
Created attachment 481786 [details]
magnified rendering of affected strings

Description of problem:
When using Cantarell, the rendering of acute accented letter 'i' in some System Settings' items is wrong because it simultaneously shows the accent mark and the dot in words "Energía" (Power) and "extraíble" (removable).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
control-center-2.91.90-1.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. choose a Spanish locale
2. open System Settings
3. see the odd rendering on mentioned words

Additional info:
I'm filing it against control-center because other apps (like nautilus, firefox, terminal, gnome-shell) render 'í' fine. I think it's a problem with the translated strings because the accented 'i' in "mensajería" looks fine. Also when I search "energi" (without accent) in http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-control-center/tree/po/es.po, it matches the string at line 1953, which looks accented.
