I also have a tarball of /sys/devices/virtual/dmi/id as a normal user, and the udevadm export db output if necessary.

Thanks for the patch, I've applied it upstream:

Fedora will pick it up with the next upstream release, to which I usually update the Fedora packages within 1 - 2 days.
