afaik, these are bugs in the applications themselves and not in gnome shell

Here's a quick-n-dirty test of the kde applications listed here on kde.4.7.90 what's currently in rawhide:

These are generally ok:
ark.desktop:Icon=utilities-file-archiver
bluedevil-*.desktop:Icon=preferences-system-bluetooth
jovieapp.desktop:Icon=preferences-desktop-text-to-speech
kaddressbook.desktop:Icon=kaddressbook (hicolor provided in same kdepim pkg)
kleopatra.desktop:Icon=kleopatra (hicolor provided in same kdepim pkg)
sweeper.desktop:Icon=trash-empty

These should be fixed:
dngconverter.desktop:Icon=dngconverter (BUG! only oxygen icon provided, should be moved to hicolor)

kexi.desktop:Icon=kexi (BUG! kexi.png only provided by oxygen-icon-theme). app probably ought to provide a hicolor one itself.

nepomukbackup.desktop:Icon=nepomuk (BUG! only provided by oxygen-icon-theme). probably need to add OnlyShowIn=KDE here.

I'll try to take care of these latter ones.

In the meantime, Rahul is right, individual bugs against the other applications should be opened.
