Description Rex Dieter 2011-03-11 18:38:08 UTC
In testing f15-alpha, looks like gnome3 user switching + kdm doesn't work. I get an error:
Unable to start new display
the name org.gnome.DisplayManager was not provided by any .service files

I'm hoping that this can be made to work through some combination of adjusting gnome3 and kdm to be compatible.

Ray, can you share some thoughts on if this could be make possible, and if so, what needs to happen to make it work?

re-assigning/re-pinging, any comment or feedback?

Comment 3 Ryan Lerch 2013-03-22 17:31:26 UTC
Rex, Is this issue still present currently in Fedora 18?

Comment 4 Kevin Kofler 2013-03-23 00:41:03 UTC
I'm not aware of anything having changed. But gdm is almost certainly the wrong component to have this assigned to, it should be something like gnome-shell or gnome-session, not sure.

I'm getting this error in Fedora-20 when trying to switch users.

Both with gdm and lightdm
