I stand corrected by Sly -- step 5 is "burn as image". Further -- no change after bringing OS up-to-date yesterday. My note #10 duplicates #4 & #5 [sorry]... Kudos to automatic bug reporting - it merged similar incidents nicely.

Dragged the one selected file to "blank CD-R" pane 3. Clicked on "Write to Disc" 4. Popup dialog asks "Do you want to create a disc from the contents of the image or with the image file inside?" I chose "Burn Contents..." 5. All Nautilus dialogs and windows disappear; crash notification appears. The crash reproduces every time (4x so far) when I tried it again to fill in detail in this report. Only instead of a second pane for the blank CD-R, I created a new tab which already held the previous dragged .iso. The disc name field shows "Data disc (12 Aug 12)"; I don't know if that came from the disc or not. Right clicking on the Nautilus entry for the file and chosing "Write to disc..." worked fine.
