Description of problem: When trying to log in via gdm using fingerprint, everything works as expected, as long as the fingerprint ist correctly identified. But if the fingerprint could not be identified, no error message or visual reaction will be shown. You have to press enter to return to the user list and chose your username again, before you can enter a password or swipe your finger again. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gdm.x86_64 1:2.91.93-2.fc15 gdm-plugin-fingerprint.x86_64 1:2.91.93-2.fc15 Steps to Reproduce: 1. your user will need to have set a fingerprint 2. click on your username in gdm 3. swipe a WRONG finger for authentification 3. nothing will happen until you press <return> Actual results: No result at all, no "authentication" failure, just no feedback. Expected results: An error message like when doing "sudo" in terminal: "Failed to match fingerprint" or something comparable. Maybe it would be nice, if I can enter the password, when fingerprint-auth failed.
This issue is still not solved with the latest updates. Maybe someone could confirm this behaviour?
This package has changed ownership in the Fedora Package Database. Reassigning to the new owner of this component.
Still an issue with latest updates.
Problem persists...
Has been fixed in Fedora 16 (x86_64) - gdm now manages fingerprints like sudo: after three wrong trials, you _must_ use the password. Since I don't use Fedora 15 any more and nobody else has ever complained about this, I close this bug.
