Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 688695
BOOTX64.efi is missing from /EFI/BOOT/
Last modified: 2011-05-19 08:57:41 EDT
On the generated media the grub efi file is missing from the DVD. It is present in the eltorito image, but it would be convenient to have it available on the iso as well for things like livecd-iso-to-disk to use when making EFI bootable USB sticks.
What would be the command for generating this image?
BOOTX64.efi is just a copy of grub.efi from the grub package. It is already being used for creating the eltorito image so should already be available.
$ rpm -qlp grub-0.97-70.el6.x86_64.rpm | grep efi /boot/efi/EFI/redhat /boot/efi/EFI/redhat/grub.efi So just open grub.x86_64 and cp /boot/efi/EFI/redhat/grub.efi <tree root>/os/EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.efi ?
(In reply to comment #4) > So just open grub.x86_64 and > cp /boot/efi/EFI/redhat/grub.efi <tree root>/os/EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.efi > ? yes
Since RHEL 6.1 External Beta has begun, and this bug remains unresolved, it has been rejected as it is not proposed as an exception or blocker. Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
* EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.efi - present in snap #4 trees accessible over http * EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.efi - available on snap #4 DVD ISO
