Description of problem:
HAving a network printer added by "system-config-printer".

Now trying the gnome-shell menu "System Settings"->Printers. It shows that printer, but if I press "Print testpage", nothing is printed, and lpq shows an empty queue.

Is this the same as https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=691154 ? That affects a local printer, but it turns out that the culprit is that "Accepting jobs" is disabled, and the control is not exposed through control-center's UI.

If so, system-config-printer would allow you to toggle it (the bug is thus that the default is off, and it cannot be switched)

I don't know why, but after applying the today's updates, the testpage  printing is OK!

Hi Joachim,

the problem was that in the older version of gnome-control-center the "Print Test Page" button executed maintenance command "PrintSelfTestPage" on the selected printer (if the printer supported the command) but version 2.91.93 uses CUPS' test page.
Your printer probably didn't executed the command for whatever reason and it also didn't show up in the queue because it was a command not a job.
