Description of problem: When I try to display an .epub file with FBReader, it has every paragraph centered. Other types of documents are OK (I have tried PDB, for example). I have also went to the Settings dialog, and in the Format tab I have changed the "Alignment" option for all types of paragraph styles to "Left". The displayed document remained the same (everything is centered). I have tried to use EPUB files from Project Gutenberg as well as those converted from PDB using Calibre, and the situation is the same for both sources. Those EPUB files are perfectly readable in other readers (Calibre internal reader, FBReaderJ on Android, and Jinke A6 e-ink reader). Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): fbreader-0.12.10-2.fc14.1.x86_64 How reproducible: 100 % Steps to Reproduce: 1. wget http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/13083.epub.noimages 2. FBReader pg13083.epub 3. scroll down few pages Actual results: Every paragraph is centered. Expected results: Most paragraphs should be either justified or left-flushed.
This issue seems to affect Project Gutenberg ePUBs, as well as PDB->EPUB conversions, but not ePUBs from e.g. FeedBooks.com e.g. http://www.feedbooks.com/book/4109/right-ho-jeeves -- both ePUB and Mobi renders properly. Filed upstream: http://fbreader.org/mantis/view.php?id=464
This works fine too: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/10947 Seems like the problem is limited to specific books - e.g. they might contain some unusual formatting? If you have a list of affected eBooks, and could bring it up to the attention of PG admins, perhaps they could look into this as well. Please post the list here too so I can forward them to the FBReader maintainers. Thanks!
Upstream has archived the old site, bugtracker link is now: http://old.fbreader.org/mantis/view.php?id=464 There's been no response there, and it seems that the development is stalled, the new site is mostly about FBReader for Android. Closing this as can't fix; I'll reopen if I ever hear back.
