Description Hans de Goede 2011-03-28 09:33:30 UTC
Created attachment 488106 [details]
Xorg log including backtrace from segfault.

Description of problem:
See the attached Xorg.log which contains a backtrace

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.10.0-3.fc15.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.14.0-7.20110316gitcdfc007ec.fc15.x86_64
kernel-2.6.38.1-6.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:
I haven't tried to reproduce yet. I was running gnome-shell (fully up2date
F-15 system) and tried to switch spice-client (spicec) from windowed mode
to fullscreen. Since the guest I was viewing was running at a different
resolution then my desktop, this involved an Xrandr call to change the
resolution. I don't know if it came that far but I think it did.

It would be nice if you could get a proper backtrace, for that you will need remote access to the computer. In ssh while you X is running attach gdb to it :
gdb Xorg `pidof Xorg`

Make sure you have the debug package installed (gdb would print a list of package to install once you attached).

in gdb type :
handle SIGSTOP noprint ignore
c

At that point the X server should be accepting input again, launch the spice application and switch to fullscreen, then it should segfault and gdb should have a backtrace

Copy output of
bt full

Hi,

I'm afraid I cannot reproduce the crash. So if the backtrace as it stands has to little information feel free to close this as INSUFFICIENT_DATA

Regards,

Hans

Comment 5 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 16:28:32 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
