Description of problem: Please see the following HP Advisory http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c02758009 Advisory: HP Smart Array Controllers - CUSTOMER ACTION REQUIRED for Certain HP Smart Array Controllers to Ensure Pending Writes to Storage Devices Complete Properly if Attempting to Use the Linux Kdump Facility This seems to affect and system using the cciss driver < 3.6.26-5 I noticed that kernel 2.6.18-238.5.1 included driver 3.6.22-RH1. I need to know if that advisory applies to systems using the HP provided driver or if systems using the inbox driver provided with the kernel should be excluded Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kernel 2.6.18-238.5.1 cciss driver 3.6.22-RH1 How reproducible: Don't know Steps to Reproduce: 1.N/A 2.N/A 3.N/A Actual results: Expected results: Additional info:
From Bug 695493 indications that these fixes are already present within rhel source pool. Could we get the patch file names that added these changes to the driver, I've been unable to determine which ones. Wondering if either of the following are the changes referenced by the HP advisory? linux-2.6-block-cciss-patch-to-make-kdump-work-in-rhel5.patch linux-2.6-block-cciss-add-option-to-enforce-simple-mode.patch linux-2.6-block-cciss-patch-to-support-kdump-on-new-controllers.patch
