Description Vladimir Benes 2011-03-31 07:17:23 UTC
Description of problem:
after resuming laptop inserted into docking station w/ 2 external monitors connected the resolution of gdm screen is a bit garbled. It shows one stripe of previous resolution (900 pixels high) and then the second stripe below it (1024 - 900 high).. see screenshot

I think there should be some resolution check after resume if there is none.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.7.7-28.el6.i686
xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-0.0.16-9.20110107gitb795ca6.el6.i686

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1.suspend laptop which is not in docking station and has no external screens
2.plug it into dock w/ external screen connected (preferably w/ different resolution) .. leave the laptop closed
3.power it on via docking station power button so it remains closed

Actual results:
gdm screen is garbled

Expected results:
resolution should change to fit new screen

Comment 16 Suzanne Logcher 2012-05-29 19:35:05 UTC
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in the
current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Because the affected component is
not scheduled to be updated in the current release, Red Hat is unfortunately
unable to address this request at this time. It has been proposed for the next
release.
