Description of problem: after resuming laptop inserted into docking station w/ 2 external monitors connected the resolution of gdm screen is a bit garbled. It shows one stripe of previous resolution (900 pixels high) and then the second stripe below it (1024 - 900 high).. see screenshot I think there should be some resolution check after resume if there is none. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.7.7-28.el6.i686 xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-0.0.16-9.20110107gitb795ca6.el6.i686 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1.suspend laptop which is not in docking station and has no external screens 2.plug it into dock w/ external screen connected (preferably w/ different resolution) .. leave the laptop closed 3.power it on via docking station power button so it remains closed Actual results: gdm screen is garbled Expected results: resolution should change to fit new screen Additional info:

Almost certainly a nouveau issue, reassigning.
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated in the current release, Red Hat is unfortunately unable to address this request at this time. It has been proposed for the next release.
