Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.
Description of problem:
When you click on either "Dashboard" or "Administration" tabs, the page that loads is an unnamed main page for that tab. There are subtabs, but this page is not one of them.
On other tabs, such as "Organizations" there is no main page. The page that opens is one of the subtabs (in this case, "Environments" which is the first in the list and currently the only one that's been developed).
This is something that is not easily noticed until you go to automate the navigation, but it is inconsistent. Just wanted to note this in case this was not a deliberate design decision.
There are 2 possible "Fixes" - 1) Give every tab a "main" page.
2) Have every tab open a subtab by default, if a tab has a main page, give it a named subtab "Main" (or some such name).
Some thought should also be given to this question - Do we want tabs to remember the last subtab they had open? (My answer is yes - conceptually tabs are like windows, and should retain state when they are not visible). Currently this is not done.

Additional info:
This is still a problem in one place - Administration.
The default subtab is just a blank page with a heading "Administration". To make it consistent with the other tabs, it should default to the first subtab - "Users".

These bugs have been resolved in upstream projects for a period of months so I'm mass-closing them as CLOSED:UPSTREAM. If this is a mistake feel free to re-open.
