I was trying to make a subfolder within a folder on the Applications menu. I chose "New Folder" and a folder with the same name as another folder appeared. I clicked on it to try to change the name. The ABRT error came up at this point and I was unable to make any subfolders after that. I was not able to reproduce it.

It originally crashed while editing one of the folders under the Wine menu.

I tried "Revert to original settings" and all of the names changed to "wine-<name>". All menu edits crash now.

This message is a reminder that Fedora 12 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 12. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '12'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 12's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 12 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this
bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version,
please add a comment here and someone will do it for you.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

--- Additional comment from uckelman onThu Nov 04 09:55:01 EDT 2010 ---
There are lots of reports here from F13. This bug should be kept open.

Package: alacarte-0.13.2-1.fc14
Architecture: i686
OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin)

How to reproduce
-----
1. Starting Gnome-Shell. Of course, the shell menu structure apears.
2. Starting again Gnome 2.x with Compiz. The Panel took the shell menu, I wanted the old structure.
3. Starting alacarte brings the ABRT. Changing the menu ist not possible.

--- Additional comment from sitronen0815 onFri Nov 19 08:56:50 EST 2010 ---
I don´t know how the 12 comes to the OS release; in case I use Release 14 Laughlin.

--- Additional comment from donaldedwardwinslow onWed Nov 24 21:58:18 EST 2010 ---
Package: alacarte-0.13.2-1.fc14
Architecture: x86_64
OS Release: Fedora release 14 (Laughlin)

How to reproduce
-----
1. I opened Alacarte from "Main Menu" in the Systems->Preferences menu.
2. I clicked on "Preferences" in Alacarte in order to edit the Systems->Preferences menu.
3. I right-clicked on an unchecked folder called "Look and Feel" to see what it was.

Comment
-----
When I tried to reproduce it, the ABRT dialog did not came up and a short menu of options was presented. When I selected "Properties" nothing happened, so I still did not learn what is in the folder.

--- Additional comment from triage.org onSat Dec 04 02:33:50 EST 2010 ---

Fedora 12 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2010-12-02. Fedora 12 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
