Description IBM Bug Proxy 2011-04-07 00:50:41 UTC
---Problem Description---
I am opening this report to include more bugfixes for IEEE 802.1Qbg support in lldpad into
RHEL6.1 that are found during testing with RHEL6.1 pre-releases.

---Additional Hardware Info---
BNT 10G Ethernet switch
A switch of this type has been shipped and installed at Redhat.

---uname output---
Linux c7b2 2.6.32-122.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Mar 9 23:54:34 EST 2011 x86_64 x86_64
x86_64 GNU/Linux

Machine Type = IBM HS22 blade server

---Steps to Reproduce---
A set of bugfixes has been submitted to the lldpad development mailing
list on 2/28 and upstream accepted on 3/7:

93ab250 prevent "forgotten" ECP frame for vsi type
b4ba885 consolidate ecp_somethingChangedlocal
8bdf62c always flag changed profile in vdp_add_profile
862823d fix memory leak in vdp_indicate
ee951ba generic: renamed find_module_user_data_by_if
1fd3130 check if port is enabled for RxTx
99f8ed0 rework ecp timer code towards newer drafts
f0549ed be sure to stop timers on VSI_EXIT
705ca6c handle negative response in VDP state machine
5d108b3 cleanup: only print profiles that are removed
45c8f8e fix potential crash after link up
f72834d no error if the profile already exists
b8fb486 event if: always reject request if link is down

Out of these bugfixes the last four have been not been accepted into RHEL6.1 yet:

93ab250 prevent "forgotten" ECP frame for vsi type
b4ba885 consolidate ecp_somethingChangedlocal
8bdf62c always flag changed profile in vdp_add_profile
862823d fix memory leak in vdp_indicate

In addition the patch "allow VSI sm state change from ASSOC to PREASSOC_P" is
needed to prevent a crash of lldpad during migration.

The userspace tool has the following bit modes: 64bit

Userspace rpm: lldpad-0.9.41-3.el6.src.rpm

This patch has been accepted upstream as

commit 899921f8db916c35dd684fdfab3b179ee60a4d55
Author: Jens Osterkamp <jens.ibm.com>
Date: Wed Apr 6 08:34:07 2011 -0700

allow VSI sm state change from ASSOC to PREASSOC_P

This is a minor change in the VSI state machine to avoid an assertion if the
state changes from ASSOCIATED to PREASSOCIATE_PROCESSING.

Red Hat, we are requesting an exception for these fixes.

Without these fixes the customers will have issues - migration with Qbg support
will be broken.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Thanks

Hello,
This is to late for an exception request for 6.1. Would you be able to confirm if this issue occurred in 6.0?

Thank You
Joe Kachuck
