In current gnome-shell, there is no obvious way to start the system-config-* tools like the firewall or authentication GUI.

should be fixed with gnome-shell-3.0.0.2-2 and gnome-menus-3.0.0-2, which are at least in updates-testing. Not sure if they're in updates yet.
