Description of problem: Fedora 14 live CD hangs computer on suspend. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora-14-x86_64-Live-Desktop.iso How reproducible: consistently on this computer Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download and install live CD on USB stick per fedora documentation. 2. Boot from USB stick. 3. Suspend using System menu. Actual results: System hangs, does not properly suspend. Expected results: Proper suspend; resume when a key is pressed. Additional info: Hardware is an Acer Aspire 1410 with Intel Core2 Solo processor SU3500 and Intel ICH9M chipset. Suspend and resume work fine with currently installed Fedora Core 12. I would like to upgrade but cannot unless suspend works. Not sure what else would be helpful. Let me know and I will add.
Is this a duplicate of bug 697773 or bug 702435?
(In reply to comment #1) > Is this a duplicate of bug 697773 or bug 702435? It is not bug 697773. The system I reported problem on is a laptop, no separate monitor / kbd. But it possibly may be bug 702435. I have not attempted to upgrade since this bug report but I can try the F15 live and see if that works or not. fedoraproject.org site seems to be down right now.
Fedora project was not down -- it was the nameserver related change. I tried booting the F15 live CD (kernel 2.6.38.6-26) and suspend works! As this is a later kernel than the one in bug 702435, I do not know if it was the same bug or not. As far as I am concerned, this problem is fixed for me in F15. thanks.
It's also fixed for me in Fedora 15 so suspend doesn't hang, but due to bug 711733 the screen isn't locked. I guess this bug should be marked CLOSED WORKSFORME.
