Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): NetworkManager-gnome-0.8.1-5.el6_0.1.x86_64 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. activate laptop's WLAN 2. click NetworkManager icon and click to connect to encrypted WLAN 3. said window comes up, enter WLAN key and hit "Enter" Actual results: Nothing happens. Expected results: Should connect to WLAN. Additional info:
The fix here (as 70ae3f5f54219e9876133d87069e126b63e3cc8a upstream on the NMA_0_8 branch) is to make sure that all GtkEntries in src/wireless-security items have the property for "activates-default" be TRUE. It'll take a bit of work to backport since upstream now uses GtkBuilder instead of glade but is not hard to do.

Created attachment 510034 [details] patch to make Enter the default button for password entries This is the backported patch for RHEL 6. You can easily use/test that by patching your /usr/share/nm-applet/applet.glade file.
Technical note added. If any revisions are required, please edit the "Technical Notes" field accordingly. All revisions will be proofread by the Engineering Content Services team. New Contents: When attempting to connect to a WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network), after providing credentials in NetworkManager's dialog box and pressing the Enter key, the dialog box remained open and nothing happened. This was caused by the Connect button not being selected in the dialog box because it was not marked as default in the code. However, clicking the Connect button with the mouse worked as expected, and the wireless connection could be established. This update ensures the Connect button is selected as the default button, enabling quick and intuitive WLAN connections.
