Description Stefan Neufeind 2011-04-15 10:47:37 UTC
Clean install of tomcat5-5.5.23-0jpp.17.el5_6 (with all deps installed) failed to start:

Starting tomcat5: /usr/bin/rebuild-jar-repository: error: Could not find xml-commons-apis Java extension for this JVM
/usr/bin/rebuild-jar-repository: error: Some detected jars were not found for this jvm

Installing xml-commons-apis by hand helped. Might a dep from tomcat5 to xml-commons-apis be useful maybe?

All tomcat5 packages (tomcat5-5.5.23-0jpp.17.el5_6 and the newer) require xml-commons-apis as a dependecy, and it is automcatically installed by yum when installing tomcat5.
