Needs irrlicht 1.8, which isn't out, they recommend SVN 3629.  CCing irrlicht maintainer.  Spot, any idea when 1.8 is coming?  I can't imagine you want to upgrade to an SVN checkout at this point.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about that idea, especially if there is an API break.

That's what I figured.  Plus, I'd hate to rebuild something this big a few times if the API changes multiple times from 3629 to 1.8.

I'll leave this open until you roll 1.8, to keep URM from going too nuts, and just wait. :)

Since this has been sitting for more than a year, I went ahead and made irrlicht18 and irrXML18 subpackages (from SVN3629). If/when Irrlicht manages a 1.8 release, they'll go away.

I'm only going to do this in F18+. You should be able to minimally patch supertuxkart to find & use the library (libIrrlicht18.so.1.8.0). Headers are in /usr/include/irrlicht18/. BuildRequires: irrlicht18-devel

This is present as soon as irrlicht-1.7.3-4.fc18 lands (it's built and an update is pending, but you can do an override if you want to do it before it hits F18 stable).

Jon what are the correct versions of the F17 packages to install?

My repo has a yum config file in a package in the noarch folder, and installing that and updating should do it.

Ahh ok, found it. There is a problem when updating but I think that it's because you are still working on it. Anyway, I get this:

I hit that on one of my machines, I had to remove irrlicht and then install from the repo.  I'm not sure what I screwed up.

But with --skip-broken is working, I only need to wait for the download of the package that contains data because it's ~ 100 MB and the connection in this institute is bad today.

* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
