It probably is possible with the updated install floppy that was made available
for 6.2. It *very very* much is recommended to upgrade your kernel to the latest
released erratum for 6.2 (2.2.19 based) immediately after installation as well.

(Oh and is there a reason you use an ancient version and not something more
recent like 7.3 ?)

To reproduce,, try to install Redhat 6.2 on P4 machine

Comment 3 Arjan van de Ven 2002-07-25 09:46:36 UTC

Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of
the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem
persists.

The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases,
and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in
the bug tracker at: http://bugzilla.fedora.us/
