Description David Timms 2011-04-20 22:08:18 UTC
Description of problem:
There is no longer a bookmark all tabs item.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
F15beta

How reproducible:
Yes.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run firefox
2. try to "bookmark all tabs"

Actual results:
no such menu item

Expected results:
menu item to click. queries user for a bookmark sub-folder name, then adds all currently open tabs links into that folder.

Additional info:
This functionality is extremely useful, and personally used a lot, even just to keep research in one area easily contained in one bookmark folder.

screencast of the non-reproduction

Thanks for the bug report. We have reviewed the information you have provided above, and there is some additional information we require that will be helpful in our diagnosis of this issue.

I cannot reproduce here with firefox-4.0.1-2.fc15 (see the attached screenshot). So, we need more information to be able to reproduce the issue here.

1) Are you able to reproduce this when running firefox in the safe mode (i.e., run it with parameter -safe-mode on the command line)
2) Are you able to reproduce the problem with the upstream binary from
http://www.firefox.com/?
3) Are you able to reproduce the problem with a fresh profile?

Thank you for your cooperation and helping to make Fedora more awesome!

We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information.

Thanks in advance.

screencapture exhibiting lack of menu item

Since Beta, I installed final RC1, and RC2, which the attached screenshot was taken with. It's firefox-4.0.1-1.fc15.i686.

I'll check with the version you mention (haven't updated for a week or so).

firefox-4.0.1-2.fc15.i686:
0. still the same.

1. yes. even to tick all safemode items, and click restart

2. yum remove'd firefox. download:
http://ftp.iinet.net.au/pub/mozilla/firefox/releases/latest-4.0/linux-i686/en-GB/firefox-4.0.1.tar.bz2
The same issue is present using this version:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1

3. created a fresh profile and 'switch user'-ed to it. same result here.

We filed this bug in the upstream database (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=660443) and believe that it is more appropriate to let it be resolved upstream.

We will continue to track the issue in the centralized upstream bug tracker, and will review any bug fixes that become available for consideration in future updates.

We would strongly encourage you to subscribe to the upstream bug as well (by logging in and adding yourself to the Cc list), so that you can provide whatever information required for the successful resolving of this issue.

Thank you for helping to make free software better.
