Description of problem: accountsservice breaks gdm if autologin is set for user Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): accountsservice-0.6.9-4.fc15.i686 on Fedora 15 Beta How reproducible: Always. At every boot, the gui spinner spins forever. Without auto-login set, the normal login choice menu appears fine. Note that this problem does not occur with the previous version, accountsservice-0.6.7-1.fc15.i686. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Insure accountsservice is at the 6.9-4 level 2. Set your user to autologin: a. In upper-right corner, left-click on username b. Select "My Account" c. Unlock. d. Click the Automatic Login button until "ON" appears e. Close by clicking upper-right X 3. Reboot 4. Observe that the spinner continually spins Actual results: No autologin occurs. No login prompt occurs at all. System must be accessed by other means, for instance Control-Alt-F2. Expected results: Autologin should occur. And with 6.7-1 it does occur just fine. Additional info: freenode:#fedora-qa nicks nanonyne and frankwe helped me with this problem. It was frankwe who suggested doing "yum downgrade accountsservice\*" to see what would happen. It was nanonyne who suggested I try booting to initlevel 3, logging on, and doing startx; that worked. My nick on that IRC channel is richtroye.

This problem does not occur with accountsservice-0.6.9-1.fc15 A 'yum update' as of 3PM Apr 28 2011 -0700 updated 0.6.7-1 to 0.6.9-1 rather than the previous, apparently more recent, 0.6.9-4. With 0.6.9-1, a reboot is successful and completes with a properly autologged-in user.
This has been fixed in accountsservice-0.6.9-5.fc15
