Description Jason Haar 2011-05-05 09:26:01 UTC
Description of problem:

I enabled plugin, and choose one or more lyric servers. After closing the plugin GUI (or even rhythmbox itself), re-entering the config GUI shows none of the lyric servers are checked. Also, the "Browse" button in there to choose where to store your lyrics doesn't work. Clicking on it does not bring up a file manager

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

rhythmbox-2.90.1-6.git20110328.fc15.x86_64

How reproducible:

always - and this works on my FC13 system -so it's new

Steps to Reproduce:
1. enable lyrics plugin
2. add servers
3. exit
4. re-enter

Actual results:

no lyrics servers chosen. You can't lookup lyrics. In fact, even MANUALLY editing lyrics is never saved! Looks like the plugin is pretty hosed?

Expected results:

I want to sing-along! Maybe the world is better off if I didn't :-)

Applies to rhythmbox-2.90.1-10.git20110502.fc15 (x86_64), the Song Lyrics plugin can't be modified nor can lyrics be saved.

rhythmbox --debug displays the following when I edit/save a lyric:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib64/rhythmbox/plugins/lyrics/lyrics.py", line 208, in edit_callback
    save_callback()
  File "/usr/lib64/rhythmbox/plugins/lyrics/lyrics.py", line 198, in save_callback
    text = buf.get_text(startiter, enditer)
  File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/gi/types.py", line 44, in function
    return info.invoke(*args)
TypeError: get_text() takes exactly 4 argument(s) (3 given)

Getting this error as well. Nobody cares?

Comment 3 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 15:14:28 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
