Disabled extension via gnome-tweak-tool and then click restart. gnome-shell was successfully restarted and also gnome-tweak-tool stayied open, i.e. no visible crash of the gui

steps to reproduce:
1. change from custom theme (gs-smooth-inset-small-screen) to Adwita with gnome-tweak-tool
2. restart gnome shell by clicking button
3. view activities
4. switch back to gs-smooth-inset-small-screen with gnome-tweak-tool

Actual results:
ABRT alert

Expected results:
no badness on theme change

Additional info:
first time this happened. I changed theme once on twice o this box and many times with many different themes on another box, no trouble. Might be a one off.

I'm not honestly sure what I was doing when this occurred. Enabling/disabling an extension, I believe; nothing untoward.
gnome-shell failed to restart and I was left at the BlackSOD, tho... which cost me quite a bit of work in unsaved files.

The crash occurred after the restart of grome 3 when, after the uninstallation of the orta theme,
i selected the voice default in the "Shell Theme" tab, under the voice "Shell" in Gnome Tweak Tool.

Hi All,

Thanks to Michael Parker for bringing this to my attention. I didn't previously have a RH bugzilla account. I think there are a few confused reports on this bug

After the shell restarts (such
as to apply a new theme or extension in 3.0.x tweak-tool loses
communication with it (That is the DBus no reply error. This means tweak tool needs to be restarted). This is unfortunate and something that I could maybe fix, but I have not bothered because g-s 3.2 will not need to be restarted for
theme/extension changes.

If the shell crashes in relation to extensions being enabled that is a
bug in the extension or the shell. When tweak-tool restarts the shell
it calls the same function as when you type 'r' in the alt+f2 run
dialog box.

3. Reenable the extension
4. Click the "Restart" button which appears on the bottom of "Tweak Tool" window

I tried it with "system-monitor" and "Weather" extensions, so it looks like it isn't a problem with specific extension.

Just restart as requested by the application ("The shell must be restarted for changes to take effect")  after the (de)activation of some extensions (via ON/OFF buttons).
The error appears jsut after the gnome-shell reload but the application still running and working.

This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora 
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is 
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no 
longer maintained.  At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this 
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen 
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that 
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you 
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it 
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on 
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that 
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's 
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events.  Often a 
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes 
bugs or makes them obsolete.
