The bug *is* in earcandy: looking at attachment 497495 [details]: /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/ear_candy/pulseaudio/PulseAudio.py, line 325 is using ctypes to dynamically load and invoke pulseaudio. ctypes doesn't have any type safety; presumably it's getting the types wrong (perhaps it was only tested on 32-bit?) Reassigning to earcandy.
