Description Nitin Yewale 2011-05-16 14:42:41 UTC
explicitly wants to have the option BOOTPROTO=static in the documentation

http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/5/html/Deployment_Guide/s1-networkscripts-interfaces.html

At present we have

 BOOTPROTO=<protocol>
    where <protocol> is one of the following:

        * none — No boot-time protocol should be used.
        * bootp — The BOOTP protocol should be used.
        * dhcp — The DHCP protocol should be used.

Comment 3 Nitin Yewale 2011-06-01 17:03:22 UTC
It is not a bug just a common misunderstanding.
