Description of problem: I kickstarted RHEL5.7-Server-20110518.0 and run firstboot there and got traceback. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): # rpm -qf /usr/sbin/firstboot firstboot-tui-1.4.27.8-1.el5 How reproducible: done once, but seem to be deterministic Steps to Reproduce: 1. kickstart RHEL-5.7 (I done it in Beaker) 2. ssh -X there 3. in /etc/sysconfig/firstboot flip RUN_FIRSTBOOT=NO to YES 4. run /usr/sbin/firstboot Actual results: # firstboot File "/usr/sbin/firstboot", line 100, in ? from firstbootWindow import firstbootWindow Expected results: No Traceback. With a) and firstboot installed (probably not good option) b) or Error messages saying that "firstboot-tui could not be run when DISPLAY is set and I should install firstboot package". Additional info: Installing firstboot package, which provides /usr/share/firstboot/firstbootWindow.py fixes this issue.
