Description Marc Muehlfeld 2011-05-19 18:45:38 UTC
Description of problem:
After switching to F15 (with all updates until today), when I plug in my Archos 3 Vision MP3 Player, the devices (e. g. sdc) appears for a few seconds and then it's gone again.

With previous versions (F13, F14) the device was available below /dev until I unplugged the device.

My USB stick (Corsair Flash Voyager 8GB) stays until I unplug it.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
udev-167-4.fc15.i686

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Plug in MP3 player
2. Device appears in /dev
3. Device dissappears automatically one second later automatically again.

Expected results:
Plug in the device, sd* device appears and stays available until device is unplugged.

I let "lsusb -v" run in an endless loop while I plugged in this device. For a second the Archos device appeared and then it was gone again.

Comment 2 Marc Muehlfeld 2011-05-22 15:25:28 UTC
Just some additional things I figured out:

- The problem stay, even if I use different cables and different USB ports (external and onboard).

- The device works like it should on Windows XP and 7.

- The divice works like it should when I boot my old F14 installation.

Just on F15 it is broken.

Comment 8 Josh Boyer 2011-10-21 13:05:57 UTC
Are you still seeing this with the 2.6.40.x F15 kernel updates?

Comment 9 Marc Muehlfeld 2011-10-21 19:22:09 UTC
Works with kernel 2.6.40.6-0.fc15.i686.PAE.
Bug report can be closed.
