Description pankaj pandey 2011-05-26 12:20:32 UTC
Description of problem:
The Fedora 15 installation guide still mentions the requirement for an install.img file, which does not exist in the F15 dvd and is supposedly not needed for installation any more.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Fedora 15

Sorry for the url typo, it should be having .html extension. The correct url is

http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/15/html/Installation_Guide/ch-Preparing-x86.html

Comment 2 Jack Reed 2011-10-26 06:23:53 UTC
Thanks for pointing this out, Pankaj. Sorry for the delay in implementing this.

For the F16 version of the guide, I've removed the steps in the sections for Preparing for NFS and Hard Drive installations (5.1.2 and 5.2 respectively) that pertain to install.img and also product.img, as well as removing other references to them.

The draft can be found at http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora_Draft_Documentation/0.1/html-single/Installation_Guide/index.html

Cheers,

Jack

Removing myself for these bug components as I'm either no longer involved in that aspect of the project, or no longer care to watch this particular bug. Sorry if you are caught in a maelstrom of bug changes as a result!
