RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Red Hat Bugzilla 1156147 1 high CLOSED Mock in RHEL 2023-09-14 02:49:31 UTC

Internal Links: 1156147

Description Michal Toman 2011-06-01 09:05:45 UTC
Please consider accepting a new package mock into RHEL 6.2. Mock is a tool used to create a chroot and build packages within.

It is required by Retrace server (New package: retrace-server - bug 709635).

It is a part of Fedora:
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/acls/name/mock

Comment 2 Bill Nottingham 2011-06-01 19:55:00 UTC
How does this work for the retrace server with respect to RHN/the CDN?

The reason we haven't shipped mock in the past is that it doesn't integrate well with RHN at all.

It it the way mock is packaged, or is it the actual functionality provided by mock that doesn't integrate with RHN? If the first, I can fix that.

Comment 5 RHEL Program Management 2012-07-10 08:12:33 UTC
This request was not resolved in time for the current release.
Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to

the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 6 RHEL Program Management 2012-07-10 23:16:13 UTC
This request was erroneously removed from consideration in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4, which is currently under development. This request will be evaluated for inclusion in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4.

Comment 7 RHEL Program Management 2013-10-14 01:04:58 UTC
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated
in the current release, Red Hat is unable to address this
request at this time.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 10 Brian Gollaher 2014-03-10 19:31:14 UTC
Thank you for submitting this request for inclusion in Red Hat Enterprise Linux. We've carefully evaluated the request, but are unable to include it in a future release. To request that Red Hat re-consider this request, please re-open the bugzilla via appropriate support channels and provide additional business and/or technical details about its importance to you.

Comment 23 Steve Almy 2016-09-09 20:09:20 UTC
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 has reached the end of Production 1 Phase of its Life Cycle (see https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata/ for details). Accordingly, there are no plans to incorporate this feature in a future Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 release.

To request the feature be included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, please re-open the request for Red Hat Enterprise 7 and provide additional business and/or technical information about the importance of this feature to you.
