Hello,
I have this problem too with my F15 x86_64.
[g.cecchi@ope46 ~]$ uname -a
Linux ope46.ceda.polimi.it 2.6.40.6-0.fc15.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Oct 4 00:39:50 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Also I noticed that as soon as I get this message, I also get the fan spin up at full spped on my Asus U36SD laptop.
So tell me if I have to fear anything for my hardare...

I found similar bugzilla in Novell:

about possible kernel commit cause...
drm/i915: tune Sandy Bridge DRPS constants
Any way to check against this?
Thanks in advance,

Comment 7 Mohammed Arafa 2011-11-14 23:32:41 UTC
i just found this in f16 too

Comment 8 Gianluca Cecchi 2011-11-15 09:21:10 UTC
Now in F16 I'm only getting in /var/log/messages
"
Nov 15 09:59:38 ope46 kernel: [ 450.855735] [Hardware Error]: Machine check events logged
"

but no mcelog file at all in /var/log
And no further entries in /var/log/messages
(such as the former ones I got in F15
Oct 14 09:08:09 ope46 mcelog[828]: mcelog: Unsupported new Family 6 Model 2a CPU: only decoding architectural errors
Oct 14 09:08:09 ope46 mcelog[828]: HARDWARE ERROR. This is *NOT* a software problem!
Oct 14 09:08:09 ope46 mcelog[828]: Please contact your hardware vendor
)

mcelog seems started
root 975 1 0 09:52 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/mcelog --ignorenodev --daemon --foreground

And afaik the --daemon option should imply logging in /var/log/mcelog.... or not?
This is with kernel-3.1.1-1.fc16.x86_64

Comment 12 Fedora End Of Life 2012-08-07 18:06:28 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 15 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 15. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. At this time, all open bugs with a Fedora 'version'
of '15' have been closed as WONTFIX.

(Please note: Our normal process is to give advanced warning of this
occurring, but we forgot to do that. A thousand apologies.)

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, feel free to reopen
this bug and simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we were unable to fix it before Fedora 15 reached end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" (top right of this page) and open it against that
version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Also exists on Core i7-3740qm. Using kernel 3.13.5-101.fc19.x86_64 makes machine unstable due to these false mce errors. OEM stress testing passes. CPU is not overheating. Unit runs warm by design (all-in-one).

Machine is 86 C (cpu intensive work running on all cores).

Threshold is defined as 87 C.

Machine throws random mce errors. mcelog claims processor not supported. Machine is NOT overheating.

Hardware event. This is not a software error.

Comment 16 Fedora End Of Life 2015-01-09 16:41:33 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 19 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 19. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now this bug will
be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '19'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 19 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 17 Chuck Lasher 2015-01-09 17:02:09 UTC
It was reported how long ago, only now to be closed as EOL?

I guess 4 years just isn't enough time to add support for processor architectures anymore.

That's unfortunate.
