Description Paul Bolle 2011-06-09 20:08:43 UTC
Description of problem:
Is just noticed some mesa-dri-drivers related errors in my Xorg log:
    $ sudo grep -n _dri.so /var/log/Xorg.0.log
    486:[ 127.535] (EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/dri/r200_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/dri/r200_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
    489:[ 127.536] (EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/dri/swrast_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
mesa-dri-drivers-7.11-0.11.20110412.0.fc16.i686

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch X
2.
3.

Actual results:
See above

Expected results:
No errors

Additional info:
0) This may have to do with this changelog entry:
* Mon May 09 2011 Adam Jackson <ajax> 7.11-0.9.20110412.0
- Drop dri1 subpackage (and its drivers), use "swrastg" consistently.

(Note that it seems that 7.11-0.9.20110412.0 never was pushed to the Rawhide repositories.)

1) I have no clue what's going on here. (I actually don't know what is that these libraries provide.) But my guess is these errors are either the result of an omission in the mesa-dri-drivers package or the result of a policy change that has not reached the X package that provides the AIGLX stuff (in which case this report should be transferred to that package).

0) Yes. See the mesa.git commit bfe01be60a047b5a3090cd859f61592b54a6fc55 ("death to DRI1 drivers") at http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/gitweb/?p=mesa.git;a=commitdiff;h=bfe01be60a047b5a3090cd859f61592b54a6fc55

1) But the Fedora 11 feature "Radeon 3D update" (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/Radeon3DUpdate ) suggests r200 (and r100) were already DRI2 drivers.

Restored in rawhide for the moment.
